Yak-Her "babysitter". He treats her very gently because of her condition, and is one of her closest friends. Tara feels like she can talk to Yak about anything, except when it's playtime!
Aleu -Tara's aunt who is less gentle with her. She will sometimes have a quick temper with the pup, but will usually calm down and play with her.
Buck-Tara's uncle who she deeply looks up to, even though she can't see. He overcame his challenges with courage and she wants him to teach her to do the same.
Physical Description: Looks a lot like her aunt Jade except she has more white and less brown points. She is completely blind from a rare birth defect and relys on her sense of smell to find her way around. She is the youngest, smallest, and weakest of her litter.
Personality: Tara is withdrawn because of her blindness and often very wary that she doesn't wander too far. She is hopeful and hopes her blindness will go away with age. She is a very sweet pup who listens to her elders and is always polite.
History: The smallest and weakest of her litter, her parents were afraid she wouldn't survive. However, she was stonger than they thought and she lived. Dom kept her close and made sure there were baby sitters watching her and her other blind sibling. Tara was very sad all the time until her father saw how she was feeling and asked her what was wrong. She told him she felt worthless because she couldn't see. Raor told Iditarod that he and her mother named her after a very special race that took place in Nome every year in honor of the serum run, and they named her this because she was a very special pup. She felt better after he told her this and became stronger. Overtime, the complete darkness over her eyes became fuzzy shapes she couldn't see very well but she could see where she was going and could now play with her siblings. Yak told Dom and Razor that it was a very good sign and she might one day be able to see. Until then, Tara remains a hopeful and happy puppy.
