As my character: Logan is my version of Balto's father, and he is somewhat of a mysterious figure in my currently incomplete fanfic, where he will reappear in Balto's life shortly after the end of the first movie. 

History: Logan was an inexperienced lead dog on his first real mail run when he was separated from his team and left for dead after a sledding accident. He was found unconscious by Aniu, who nursed him back to health and convinced her pack, whose bitter hatred of dogs would have seen him killed, to let him live among them. Inevitably, he and Aniu fell in love, but the pack had a strict prohibition against tainting the pure blood of the wild wolf with that of a tame dog. If they were to know that Aniu and Logan had mated, even a wolf as respected as Aniu would have been banished. They concealed their relationship as best they could until Aniu became pregnant, at which point they decided to feign disappearance in a blizzard in order to keep their secret. Aniu gave birth months later to six healthy pups, who were brought into the world in hiding. Most of the pups had wolfish appearances, and would have been accepted by the pack, but one, Luna, looked almost like a purebred husky, so Aniu insisted that Logan return to his home in White Mountain with the pup. Logan never saw Aniu again, and would not be reunited with the rest of his children for many years.
