As my character: I've had Sage as a character for a while, almost as long as Jade but not quite. I chose her name because it means "wise," but the name was doubly appealing as the sage plant - the characteristics of which went subtly into my development of her personality. 

History: Sage is one of Balto's siblings, who were all separated from each other at a young age, upon the death of Aniu. Sage managed to find the rest of Aniu's pack, and was raised among the other young members. Sage's life began to change when, as per the pack's coming-of-age ritual, she went to survive on her own for 12 days, but got inevitably lost in a blizzard on the final leg of her journey, and wandered into the territory of her pack's bitter rivals. A complicated series of events follows that brings Sage into a position of power. Her story is really complicated, so I think it's best to end there.
