As my character: Jade was one of the first characters I ever created. I've probably had her for about 10 years. 

History: Jade is one of Balto's 5 siblings, who were separated from each other as pups following Aniu's tragic death. Jade went into White Mountain to look for her father after their mother was shot, but she ended up in the basket of a sled heading on an expedition to cross the frozen Bering Strait. When she arrived in Russia, she was lucky enough to stumble upon a kindly female wolf who had young pups of her own, and grew to adulthood as a member of that pack. Her adoptive brother eventually became the alpha of that pack. On her first hunt, Jade met her eventual mate, Kazan, and early one morning when she was pregnant with their litter, the alpha overheard her confess to being part dog -- grounds for him to banish her and her new family from the pack. When the pups were weaned, they crossed the ice bridge back to Alaska, where she hoped to be reunited with her long-lost siblings.
