Given Name: Tanta
(Is affectionately called Missy by her owner)
Pedigree: Black & White coated Siberian husky
Lineage: Maxwell and Kate
Mate: -Pending-
Progeny: None Currently
Siblings: 3 littermates (all male)
Personality: She has the type of personality that gives her natural capabilities as a sled team leader- which she is. She is her owner’s most prized lead dog, as good as any male- and an exceptionally good male at that. She has no problem with the rough and tumble of life with her nearly unflappable personality. Though she seems sweet enough, this soft spoken female commands absolute control over her team. During times of peril she can put on a nearly emotionless mask in order to maintain control over her team- by giving the impression that she is always level headed. Her voice is soft and notably motherly- but like a mother she has that undertone of ‘quiet superiority’ and competence without being pompous or pretentious. She just has an air of “Let’s do things this way, I’ve done them this way before and it works.” Being on equal level- or even above males as a leader is just a way of life for her and always has been. She likes things to be under control, but she doesn’t need to be in control of the world, just of her team. Like her father- Maxwell, she is careful with the power and honor bestowed on her. She was picked as a lead dog not for strength alone, being female; there are certainly bigger males out there. She was picked for her level head and unique authoritative personality. Without seeing her in harness, you probably wouldn’t guess that she is a lead dog. However, when she is on the job, this serene female is obeyed without fail. In response to the compliancy of her team-mates and owner, Tanta is inimitably loyal.
Habits/Quirks: Early riser- she likes to ensure that she starts her day early. Often times in response to a direct insult she will just stare blankly in response- it should be noted that her gaze is extremely intense. She is also particularly good at making her team-mates feel guilty when they don’t do their jobs right. She’s no OCD nut case- but she really dislikes disorder.
Passions: Doing her job well as a lead dog and pleasing her owner (most of the time).
Bio: Her family lines have been involved with sled pulling as long as the sport has been around- her line reached its highest point with her father Maxwell; he was a nearly perfect specimen and example of the right lead dog “stuff”. Maxwell was quietly brilliant- and his breeder kept him in a breeding pair with Kate who was also an exemplary swinger dog instead of offering him up for public stud. Max’s breeder didn’t want just any dam entering into his carefully planned out gene pools. Tanta was born into the first litter and was bought by a friend of the breeder’s family named Rudy when she was about year old.
She learned that living the Rudy was not going to be at all like growing up at home- now in charge of a team of her own; she learned there was no room of incompetence. She looked to her father’s image of how to lead. Her new role didn’t traumatize her or anything, but she certainly learned to mature quickly and make big decisions on a daily basis. Over the years Tanta grew very close to her team-mates and Rudy. She was able to carry out her job- day to day triumphs- mail runs and races alike. The team was one of the best around the area.
Unknown to Tanta- Rudy has big plans for this lady outside of the harness, and he heard that a good place to put these plans into motion would be Nome. Rudy knows that Tanta is a nearly invaluable breeding asset. Although Tanta hates the idea of leaving her job and she has never known males in a different light other than coworkers, she is taking to her new life in Nome with the team fairly well. She doesn’t know much about the local teams she has heard of the “Great Serum Run”, while she may say that it is over glorified, inwardly she admires all who were involved.

I'm glad you like her, hate making characters for the willy-nilly but
she's been knocking around in my head for quite some time, so you just
gave me the means of coming up with her. Yeah I tried to keep her
design simple- another peeve of mine is reading fanfiction that says
"he was black with silver socks a white star, with a silver stripe on
his back and, a brown belly and a brown tail" I'm pretty sure everyone
can envision a black and white coated husky no bells and whistles. I am so glad that you stopped to read her information-because that's what makes her who she is. That is part of the reason I stay away from "design my furzona a matTe!" contests for the most part. I digress...But glad you can appreciate that! |
