History:
Nisa was born and raised in the wild. Her parents often argued and sometimes Nisa felt like she was the only thing keeping them together. One night, Nisa's father came and randomly attacked her mother. They fought for a long while and eventually, Nisa's mother was able to chase him off. Angry, Nisa's mother took her kit to the nearest human town to live there. Nisa didn't mind it at first until she met her human's grandkids. She tried to look cute and playful, but then one picked her up and held her in an uncomfortable postion. They began to fight over her by pulling on her, squeezing her, and one even sat on her. Nisa hid under the couch until they went to sleep. She thought over this lifestyle and favored the wild one.
Nisa decided to run away. She offered for her mother to come too, but the older cat refused. She even forbade Nisa to run off. But Nisa did anyway. She missed her mother very much, but didn't look back. She returned to the cave she was born in. She hunted and defended it as her territory for a few days. Then her dad came. Apparently, he had been living here and with another mate too. He fought Nisa for the cave. Nisa fought fiercely despite him being her dad. In the end, he chased her away. Nisa had to wander the woods for days...maybe months. Every time she would find a decent home, someone else would claim it. At the end of every day, Nisa would sleep hungrier and weaker than when she woke up. Her only option left was to go back to her mom.
When Nisa finally reached Nome, however, she found that her old owner and mother had died the day before. She was twice as shocked when she found the house's new occupants were cat haters. They proved it by giving her a few cuts and brusies to remember. Nisa was depressed because not only did she have no home, but her last words to her mother was that she hated her.
Nisa went back to wandering. One day, her life finally turned towards the better. She spotted a rabbit and prepared to hunt it. After a tiring chase, Nisa had it pinned down, but as she prepared to give the final strike, a snowy-white husky tackled her and ripped her off the hare. A very angry Nisa hissed and prepared to fight for the prey. Before she could, an owl flew down and with its talons, gave Nisa some pretty bad cuts in the flank.
As Nisa lay bleeding on the snow, she prepared for the husky to eat her. But instead, it began to lick her wounds clean! The husky apologized for being so fierce and introduced herself as Iniq. She explained that she was only trying to protect the rabbit and the owl was trying to protect her. At first, Nisa didn't believe such different animals would ever team up. But she got her proof when she met the rest of them. They were traveling with some others, in a little group that they called the Snowfurs that were trying to get a small dog (Lusa) home. Nisa was even offered to join. After all, she had the perfect snowy pattern to fit in with. The cat was blinded by the idea of fitting in somewhere. She agreed to at least help them find the white bear that would help lead the way. By the time the polar bear said she would lead the way, Nisa had grown attached to the Snowfurs. The adventure was long and hard and in the end, Lusa didn't even stay at home. She had returned to her life in the wild (sound familiar?) and wanted to live as a Snowfur. Now, Nisa lives with the Snowfurs with contentment. Hasn't she earned it?
Relation to Balto: Balto saved her from drowning after Steele chased her into the river and she lives near Nome
