Name: Mattie
Age: 5
Gender: Female
Breed: Australian Cattle Dog
Build: Slender, like a ACD, but has longer fur that makes her look scruffy.
Parents: a pair of breeding dogs
Siblings: unnamed
Personality: Sweet, caring, gentle. She's the big sister of the group, looking out for the younger dogs, mainly the girls. She has a quiet temper, but Clyde just seems to push her buttons to get it going. Her being angry mostly consists of glaring, giving you the cold shoulder, and having a edge to her voice. She doesn't shout unless she gets really riled up.
History: Born to a breeder in Utah, her owner kept her for her coat color. However, one man who came to look at the pups took a liking to her and offered a lot of money. The breeder took it and Mattie was taken to her new home. There she was put in charge of the man's sheep. her owner entered her in a few herding shows, where she won a couple awards.
The man's wife grew tired of country life and wanted to move closer to her family in the city. Due to her sister being allergic to dogs, Mattie couldn't come. The man put up ad's, and a man moving north to join his family saw them and bought Mattie.
Mattie was taken to the Mcaslin Clan ranch in Alaska, where she met Ol'Mac, Emmett, JoBeth, Cutter, and Clyde.
Clyde was rude and the two clashed constantly. Over time, they got along better, but still butted heads.
Mattie thought Clyde was actually clever and a brilliant herder, and even developed a crush on him. However, he shows no signs of returning her feelings, and this can frustrate her when she tries to show him how she feels. She feels she's talking to a chunk of ice.
The rest of the dogs, aside from the two themselves and Nash, are aware of the attraction between Clyde and Mattie, but no one goes any farther then vague teasing on JoBeth's orders.

Likes: the ranch, her job, pups
