History: Lera was the smallest pup of her litter, but she always tried to keep up with her siblings. She was adopted by a photographer, but she was allowed to go out with her siblings whenever she wanted to. The five of them were playing outside one day, and Lera got separated from her siblings when she stopped to rest for a bit. She wondered around, trying to find them again, when she came across a large malamute. Lera didn't know it at the time, but the malamute was Steele.

He recognized her as Balto and Jenna's daughter. Steele had gotten into a fight with his mate and split up with her recently, so he was still angry enough to taunt that little pup. He didn't physically hurt her, but blocked her escape everytime she tried to run. Just as he finally snapped at her, she scampered through his legs and ran as fast as she could back home. Steele's cruel laughter echoed in her mind long after that though.

As Lera grew up, she was still the timid dog that she had been as a pup. One day, when she was out with her siblings, they came across Steele again. Lera was immediatley frozen with fear at the sight of the malamute, especially when he spoke of getting his revenge by attacking the siblings. Denalit jumped in to protect the rest of his siblings, though, and the two dogs became locked in battle.

Lera was so terrified by the thought of Steele winning the fight with her brother that she turned tail and ran away as fast as she could. When she finally got home, she stayed inside for days afterwards, ashamed of her actions. Finally, though, Sam come to her home to talk to her. He convinced her that it wasn't her fault that she was so scared that she ran away. He revealed to her that Steele had promised to come back to Nome and take his revenge on the siblings. Lera promised Sam that when Steele returned, she wouldn't run away like a coward again.

Personality: Lera is a shy and timid dog. She usually keeps to herself and is very quiet. She is not a very trusting dog, but when she learns to trust another dog as much as she does her siblings, she becomes a bit more talkative and relaxed. She is not a very playful dog, but she  is very sweet and innocent. She can be naive about danger, but luckily she always has her siblings there to protect her.
