Appearance: Shades of brown and cream. He has grey-blue eyes and a patch on his right eye. He is the same height as Aniu.
 

Age: (When he met Aniu) About four.
 

Likes: Running, adventure, exploring, the wild, leading, occasional time alone, his family/friends, Aniu, learning.
 

Dislikes: Following, boredom, crowds, pettiness, staying in one town for long, prejudice.
 

Personality: Friendly, although quick tempered at times. Jace very much enjoys his work and the travel that goes with it. Because he was nearly always on the move, he didn't get close to any other dogs other than his teammates and he thinks of them as family. Still, he is somewhat introverted. 

Fair and honest, he makes a good leader even though he sometimes comes off as arrogant. He is determined but stubborn and suspicious to strangers. 
 

How he's related to Balto: He's Balto's father, Aniu's mate.
 

History: His parents were breeding dogs for strong, persistent pups. He was taken from his mother early and almost immediately was trained for sled work. When he was sold the musher put him behind other dogs, which frustrated him because he had trained so hard. In response, he became disobedient, mischievous, and  just plain lazy. He was sold many times, eventually he was sold to Matthew, a young, inexperienced musher. Matt had Jace as the lead dog, this made Jace quickly become the hard working leader he wanted to be.

JC loved the traveling and soon became close to his teammates. They were always on the move which caused him to grow impatient in one town for long. His life was perfect, until when he met Aniu and suddenly his domesticated life wasn't enough. For a while he lived with her pack.

Other: After meeting Aniu he had bizarre, prophetic dreams much like Balto's. However, Jace's dreams were often more violent, and gruesome, making him nervous for the well being of those he cared about.
