History: From the start of his life Max was trained to be a sled dog and from the start of his life he hated it. The only thing that kept him from running was his loyalty to his owner. He had only one friend on the team, a female husky named Christie. She ran along side him in the front and together the two lead the team to many victories. He met his wife at the age of three years old when he and his team got lost in a storm. He fell off the very same cliff that his son Balto would later fall from. Aniu was out hunting when she found the half frozen dog passed out in the snow, against her father's wishes she took Max in.

While nuresing him back to health the two young canines spent many hours talking about their lives. It wasn't soon until they fell in love that Max was well enough to return home again. He didn't want to and was planning on staying with Aniu but little did they know Max's owner had been looking for him for weeks. It was thanks to a few search and reascue dogs that his trail was picked up and he was found in the cave he'd been hidding in. Though he fought hard against them in the end he was caught and taken back to his owner. After a clean bill of health from the vets, Max was up and running with in a month. But his time away from Aniu had caused him to go into a severe depression and for the first time in his life he went against his owners commands.

He ran away in search of Aniu when ever he could in search of his beloved. Returning home each night, it took several weeks but when he finally did find her she was not alone. Three puppies lay close to her belly, Max was thrilled to find that he was a father and had decided  from then on he wouldn't return to his former life as a sled dog.

For the first month of his puppy's lives Max and Aniu lived in peace, he had won over his own territory and Aniu's father had allowed her to move in with Max next door. While their lives werent always easy, Aniu's father helped the new pack by providing protection and allowed them an extra scrap or two when needed. Meanwhile back home, his owner had fallen on hard times and was forced to stud out or sell most of his dogs. A man came to town and offered Max's owner a rather large sum of money if he could find and breed Max with his former best friend Christie.

Max was coming back from a hunt when he got caught in a cage and was sent back home. His owner chained him to the backyard where he let Christie run free. He told her what had happened to him and she exaplained to him what had happened in the past month. When he learned why was there, he was disugusted. But he was stuck.....unagainst his will he eventually bred with Christie and created two puppies which were sold. 

Several months later his owner packed up and moved to New York with his two dogs, where Max wouldn't see his puppies again for several years and only after his owner moved back to Alaska with a family of his own....
