History: Tide was born on the coast of Hooper Bay, Alaska and lived there for most of her life. When she turned a year old, Tide’s herd migrated up to Nome’s coast for the summer. The young seal loved it there but only one thing frightened her: the dogs. She refused to come out of the water when the herd wasn’t feeding and she stayed in the water from sun up to sun down. One day, Tide was forced to retreat from her liquid savior onto the port’s decks due to a killer whale bum rushing her herd, taking her fiancé’s and her father’s lives with it; the remaining seals rushed up onto shore and, since it was an off day for the humans, they had to stay there all night praying that the whale would go away. It didn’t; and Tide was starting to get hungry, but she didn’t dare to slip into the water with the demon; and if things couldn’t get any worse, a young dog just so happened to fall into the water and the killer whale went after him. Summoning up all her courage, Tide went in after them, she managed to drive the killer whale off for a few minutes and helped the dog back onto shore; when the whale came back, all of Tide’s herd dived into the water and drove it away. Later on, the dog, whose name was Dingo, thanked Tide and her herd for saving him.
