History: He was sold to a young man in Anchorage when he was just a pup and met two other dogs. The three of them became the closest of friends and were constantly around each other. They were trained to be hunting dogs and were good at what they did. Both of Rabbit's friends found mates and had pups but Rabbit could never find anyone who really caught his eye. He was happy living the way he was.
One night, there was a fire and the other two dogs and their owner died. When the house was inspected, they found a barely alive Rabbit nestled under his owner's arms. They took him away and treated his injuries, nursing him back to health. For a while, he was jumpy and afraid and refused to eat. After some loving attention from his owner's uncle, he started to calm down and even ate a bit. He lost his sight in one eye from the fire but the uncle took him back to his farm with him.
It was there that he met the yearling, Summer Delight. She was also suffering from a loss, that of her mother, but she suddenly started to care for Rabbit, confusing him. However, he soon grew close to her, appreciating how kind she had been and eventually falling in love with her despite the three year age gap.
