History: Huga was born in Osaka, Japan but his owners moved to Nome when Huga was a

few years old. After that, the dog had trouble adjesting to the cooler enviroment

but, luckly for him, he grew an extra-thick under coat of fur. Once when Huga was

walking through town when he heard some dogs and people yelling. He went toward the

sounds and discovered that a sledding race was taking place, so he went onto the

track and ran alongside the team. After the race was finished (Huga came in first)

the crowd of people began throwing rocks and kicking snow at him, Huga ran away and

he ended up runnig into a small pack of wolves. He stayed with the wolf pack for

two more years and became a scout for them. The wolves' leader was Nava and they

soon met two wolfdogs: Aleu and Balto. After the wolfdogs were saved by Nava, the

pack split up after a meeting. Huga was left wondering which side he should take

but he stayed with Nava's side. The next day, the entire pack reunited to cross to

the caribou on peices of floating ice. Huga helped guid them across when Aleu had

to go back for Nava. After that, Aleu said good-bye to he father, manged to get

back to the pack's peice of ice, and she lead the pack safly across but Balto,

Nava, Niju, and Huga stayed on the other side. Balto asked Huga why he didn't go,

the dog explained that he had to go back home with his family, where he really

belonged.
