Name: John Mark (Jahn Mah-r-hk)

Age: Two years old

Breed: Alaskan Malamute German Shepherd mix

Personality: John Mark is the type of guy who is very nice to everyone, including dogs who don't deserve kindness towards them. Even with his good reputation, he can be very aggressive in battle, badly wounding enemies fataly but not enough to kill them. He takes good care of Saba and shows his affection and love for her when she becomes sick with influenza and helps her pull through on the verge of death. He takes good care of his friends when they fall into trouble and would always go out of his way to help someone, even if they are is worst enemy.

History: When John Mark was born in Nenana, life was lonely for him since he was the only surviving pup in his mother's litter. He always wanted to become a strong and brave sled dog like his father. His mother rarely let him leave her side, since she was very protective of him since he was her only child. He could do nothing all day but play with a small rubber ball and rest at his mother's side, often growing bored. When he turned ten weeks old, his mother's owner needed money in order to keep food on the table for his family until the winter when the sled races and such started up. So he sold John Mark for a plentiful price to the Nome to White Mountain mail team. He became good friends with Kodiak and the mail dogs, meeting Saba when Kodiak took him to meet his family. John Mark got very close to Saba, soon becoming her mate. When he found out she was expecting his litter of pups, he was thrilled. He helped Saba through the long birth and proved himself a great father as he spent almost all his time with them for the three weeks after they were born.
