Personality: Marianna is one of the dogs most females envy, and not just because Steele is her mate. She has the soft, comforting aura about her and most dogs like to be around her. She's also very convincing, making you believe a bug was a great dane if she put her mind to it. She also changed Steele's personality, throwing out his ambition and lust, making him a very kind dog.

History: She has been a house dog all her life, being the only pup in her mother's litter. She lived with her mother's owner since she was the only pup, and still lived with him. Her mother died of old age when she was three years old and her owner adopted Steele when he was found alone on the streets. She doesn't live in Nome, she lives in Nenana. She gave birth to Steele's pup, John Mark. She was very protective of her son, never letting him leave her side. When was ten weeks old she was heart broken when he was sold to the mail team in Nome. Her spirits where lifted when John Mark returned during a visit, promising to visit often when he wasn't running the mail.
