When I first saw this movie as a kid, it didn't strike me as the type to hit me in the gut, and at first, it didn"t. Over the past few years however, I've gone back over it and realized what a cinematic classic it is! It may have been outplayed by The Little Mermaid, but it will always be in my top 5 animated movies for the rest of my life, and heres why.

STORY- The story drives itself home, though it does kind of faze a bit halfway through its run. I love the mood Don Bluth set for the final scene, and how deep he was willing to go to get his message across, even if it meant hurting Ichy. I'm not too fond of Carface, but I don't hate his character (except for in the second film)

ANIMATION: The colors are admirable, with very little inconsistancies, whether that be with the characters heights or tones. I even got into this style of drawing/animation because of ADGTH!!

QUICK CONCLUSION: It's hard to put in to words how much I cried to this movie, but I have to say it's one of the best made.
