why did Burt Reynolds not reprise his role

Question :
Evanin the first All Dogs go to Heaven movie Burt Reynolds provided Charlies voice and was real great at it but in the sequel the series and the Christmas Carol he did not voice Charlie Charlie Sheen voiced him in the sequel and Steven Webber voiced him in the series and the Christmas Carol but he was not the only actor who did not reprise his role also in the sequel the series and Christmas Carol Ernest Borgnine voiced Carface instead of Vic Tayback and instead of Melba Moore voicing Annabelle it was Bebe Neuwirth but Dom Deluise returned as Itchy and Charles Nelson Rielly returned as Killer but why did Burt Reynolds not keep his role as Charlie and yes Vic Tayback was dead and had to be replaced why was Burt Reynolds replaced nobody did Charlies voice better than him .
