I would say my main problem with a general background is lighting. I
can never seem to get the lighting in a way where it looks like a
realistic scene instead of a drawing ya know? A good example of this
is here.
http://jennawolf48.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d5hrsf0 See how it
looks kind of flat? that is my main problem with making the BG and the
picture fit together. and here is another one where I used a realistic
style, my first digital drawing with humans in it. http://jennawolf48.deviantart.com/gallery/ It
looks better then others, but it's not realistic enough. That was a
hard background to tackle because I had little reference of that room
from POI. As I said I'm okay with snowy backgrounds.

http://jennawolf48.deviantart.com/gallery/ But still I'd like to do
bigger backgrounds with things such as fall colors, since I love fall.
But thank you for the help, I've found that I can do more with
backgrounds in general in SAI, that's where I did the two pieces with
snow I just showed you.
Well , as shown, not much, I'm okay with snowy and winter scenes,
I'm alright with trees in some forms, but where I really lack is in
summer, fall, basically, backgrounds with lots of plants, leaves ect.
could you give me a few pointers?
